Blueberry Buckle
Enjoy this blueberry buckle for dessert or breakfast... or both!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup soft shortening
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups flour (sifted)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups blueberries
Directions
Step 1 | |
Mix sugar, shortening, and egg together thoroughly. | |

Stir in milk. | |
Step 3 | |
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into wet mixture. | |

Gently mix in 2 c. washed blueberries. | |
Step 5 | |
Spread batter in a greased and floured 9x9 pan. | |
Step 6 | |
Mix together 1/2 c. sugar, 1/3 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and 1/4 c. softened butter. Sprinkle over batter. | |
Step 7 | |
Bake in 375 degree oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. |
