Glazed Shrimp and Asparagus

An easy week-night meal, ready in minutes! The longest step is peeling your shrimp. Do that ahead, and dinner's ready in 15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 8oz uncooked angel hair pasta
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3/4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1lb uncooked large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 3 teaspoons peanut or canola oil (divided)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1lb fresh asparagus (trimmed and cut into 3)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root (minced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flales
Note
Kay swears this is her new favorite recipe! She said it's pretty spicy, so cut back on the red pepper flakes if you don't want that much spice!
Directions
Step 1 | |
Cook pasta according to package directions. | |

In a small bowl, combine cornstarch, water, soy sauce, and honey until smooth. Set aside. | |

In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry shrimp in 1 tsp. peanut oil and sesame oil until shrimp turn pink. Remove and keep warm. | |
Step 4 | |
Stir-fry asparagus in remaining peanut oil for two minutes. Add the ginger, garlic, pepper flakes, and sesame seeds; stir-fry for two minutes longer or until asparagus is crisp-tender. | |
Step 5 | |
Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. | |
Step 6 | |
Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. | |
Step 7 | |
Add shrimp and heat through. | |
Step 8 | |
Drain pasta and serve with shrimp mixture. |
