We’re excited to share that the 2nd Annual Bruce Hollabaugh Memorial 5K is set for April 12, 2026! This special event supports the Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund and takes runners and walkers right through our family farm as the orchards are in full bloom. New this year, we’re adding a Fun Run for anyone looking for a shorter, flatter course—perfect for all ages and paces. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for a meaningful day on the farm!

Third generation family member, Bruce left this world suddenly and way to soon during the winter of 2022 at the age of 41, leaving behind an enormous hole in the family’s hearts and business. Bruce was the production manager here at the farm, but he was also a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend: he had numerous titles, but despite the many hats he wore, he always found time to support his community, too.

He had returned to the family farm in May of 2002 after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with degrees in horticulture and Spanish.  Bruce became an owner and member of the company’s board of directors in 2007.  A fluent Spanish speaker, Bruce was widely known and respected not only by our own employees, but throughout the community as an advocate for and friend to the latino population in Adams County. While managing the company’s ever growing and changing tree fruits, Bruce also introduced the production of small fruits and vegetables to the Hollabaugh farm; including blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pumpkins, sweet corn, summer veggies, and potatoes. He will hold a constant place in our hearts and on this farm forever.

The Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund

We wanted to continue Bruce’s legacy in the community and in all the areas he was so passionate about in life. His parents, Brad and Kay, started the Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund* in 2025. Managed by the Adams County Community Foundation, the fund will benefit the charities and community initiatives for which Bruce cared deeply during his life. Net proceeds from the race will benefit the Endowment Fund. Make plans to join us as a runner or walker and help to support many good causes and organizations throughout the Upper Adams Community and beyond.

We hosted the 1st Annual Bruce Hollabaugh 5K Memorial Run in April 2025 to raise funds for the Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund. We were absolutely blown away by the support of our community. We are excited to share that the first distribution from the endowment fund was made in June 2025. It went to the Upper Adams School District Intermediate School for “Hot Beds” for the Garden Club as well as gardening tools, i.e. shovels, gloves, watering cans, hoses, etc.

Gardening was something near and dear to Bruce and to our family and it seemed to be a perfect fit for the first distribution. Thank you, runners, sponsors and donors for YOUR contribution in making this happen for the 2025 School Year. ❤️
