As the dust settles after our second annual Bruce Hollabaugh Memorial 5K & Fun Run, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what this event truly represents—and to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made it possible.

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, participants, and community, we are honored to share that $18,637.15 will be added to the endowment fund created in Bruce’s memory. To see this fund grow in just a short time is incredibly meaningful, and a powerful reminder that Bruce’s impact continues to live on in the hearts of so many.

This year’s race brought together an inspiring mix of first-time participants and returning runners who didn’t want to miss the experience. From the energy at the starting line to the smiles at the finish, the day was filled with connection, purpose, and community spirit. We also heard from many runners that this year’s swag bags were among the best they’ve ever received—so to those who contributed items, thank you for helping us create something truly memorable.

To our sponsors and supporters: your willingness to say “yes” to this event is what makes it all possible. Whether you gave financially, donated items, or encouraged participation, your support has a lasting impact. We hope you continue to see the value of your involvement and will consider joining us again next year when the race returns on April 11, 2027.

More than just a race, this event is a tribute to a life that meant so much to so many.

Bruce, a third-generation member of our family, passed away unexpectedly in the winter of 2022 at the age of 41, leaving an enormous void in both our family and our business. As production manager, Bruce played a vital role on the farm—but his influence extended far beyond his work. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who always made time to support others.

After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University in 2002 with degrees in horticulture and Spanish, Bruce returned to the family farm, later becoming an owner and member of the board of directors in 2007. He helped expand our operation beyond tree fruits to include small fruits and vegetables—blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pumpkins, sweet corn, summer vegetables, and potatoes—leaving a lasting imprint on the farm’s growth.

Fluent in Spanish, Bruce was widely respected throughout the community as an advocate for and friend to the Latino population in Adams County. His compassion, leadership, and commitment to people are part of the legacy we honor through this race.

We are deeply grateful to live, work, and do business in a community filled with such generosity and heart. Thank you for helping us celebrate Bruce’s life in a way that continues to give back and bring people together.

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

The Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund

We wanted to continue Bruce’s legacy in the community and in all the areas he was so passionate about in life. His parents, Brad and Kay, started the Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund* in 2025. Managed by the Adams County Community Foundation, the fund will benefit the charities and community initiatives for which Bruce cared deeply during his life. Net proceeds from the race will benefit the Endowment Fund. Make plans to join us as a runner or walker and help to support many good causes and organizations throughout the Upper Adams Community and beyond.

We hosted the 1st Annual Bruce Hollabaugh 5K Memorial Run in April 2025 to raise funds for the Bruce A. Hollabaugh Memorial Endowment Fund. We were absolutely blown away by the support of our community. We are excited to share that the first distribution from the endowment fund was made in June 2025. It went to the Upper Adams School District Intermediate School for “Hot Beds” for the Garden Club as well as gardening tools, i.e. shovels, gloves, watering cans, hoses, etc.

Gardening was something near and dear to Bruce and to our family and it seemed to be a perfect fit for the first distribution. Thank you, runners, sponsors and donors for YOUR contribution in making this happen for the 2025 School Year. ❤️
